Opposition parties in the volatile Central African Republic on Tuesday stood by their rejection of President Faustin Archange Touadera's re-election, a day after his victory was confirmed by the country's top court.
In a statement, a coalition of 15 parties called COD-2020 said it "does not recognise" the result, arguing that Touadera was backed by just 17 percent of registered voters and the ballot was marred by "innumerable frauds and irregularities."
On Monday, the CAR's Constitutional Court declared Touadera re-elected with 53.16 percent in the first round on December 27 but on a turnout of just 32.35 percent, affected by armed groups which control most of the country.
